I just saw this at the Google Blog: Google has now started to include YouTube videos in the video search results.
YouTube still remains independent, though:

Last year France and Germany proclamed, that they would create a competing search engine to take on Google and Yahoo. The new project was dubbed "Quaero", latin for "I search".
But according to The Guardian, Germany has now left the coorporation.

Google ahead, Technorati behind

According to The Register Google overtakes Technorati.
I'm afraid I have to agree. Lately Technorati hasn't been doing so well with a lot of searches returning in a "error — please try again later" message.
Maybe it's time to consider Google's blogsearch?

New Media Firefox search plugin

I've just created a Firefox plugin that enables you to search directly in my blog from the search field in Firefox' upper right corner.

Top 10 Google searches in 2006

It's apparently time for the search engines to publish their list of topsearches.
BBC News has a story of the top 10 searches on Google in 2006.

To me that looks a bit more…eh…geeky than the top Live searches. Hhhhmm……

Top Live searches in 2006

On the Live search blog, the Live team has just posted the list of top searches in Live Search in 2006.
Don't know if you can make anything out of that list or not. Sure would help to see how many times the different queries had been searched for.
