Mary Jo Foley has a post, that Microsoft Works 9.0 will be free of charge and powered economically by ads.

This is probably old news already, but as the BBC reports, social networking site Facebook has bought Parakey a startup by two of the founders of the Firefox project, Blake Ross and Joe Hewitt.

According to Google blogoscoped Google is testing the new "view as slideshow" feature in Gmail, that allows you to view the slideshow online and flip through the slides one by one.
To check it quickly found an e-mail with a slideshow attatched (just search for "filename:ppt" in Gmail) and I have the feature as well.

I've blogged about it before and now Google CEO Eric Schmidt has announced it: Google is working on a presentation tool which will be ready later this year.

Google has now turned Google Talk into an online application that you can launch in your browser – even though you can still download the software version.

You've probably already read about it, but Adobe is planning an online, free and ad financed version of Photoshop.
The main reason: To do it before Google. Now that's a bit scary, considering the fact that Google is just an 8-9 year old corporation. Wicked.
