This blog is about the new online media, and what’s going to happen to it. But it’s also about all the tools, nuts and bolts, that do their part in the background and make it all come to live.
All this includes websites of various journalistic news services, blogging, pod- and videocasting, content management systems, programming languages and frameworks (for instance AJAX, PHP and XUL), web applications, user powered websites, web 2.0 etc etc etc.
I’ll also write about end-user software, since most of this software is connected or related to the internet. This is software like browsers (mostly), office suits, word processors, various useful pieces of software etc.
I’ll focus on the end user experience (seen both from the user’s and a journalist’s point of view) and the more “techier” stuff – both news in the field of developing, customizing and programming and how you can rub the various tools just the right way.
I started this blog because a lot of things are happening right now. A number of online newspapers in Denmark (where I live) is restructuring and getting ready for a website with news and a newspaper with the background stuff. And the web 2.0 applications are really kicking off now!
But this isn’t just happening here, it’s everywhere – and this blog is about all that – and a little bit more :-)
