Can you measure a blog's influence? If so, how?

In the Danish corner of the blogosphere there's an interesting debate on how to measure the influence of a blog or more blogs.
The reason for the debate is some analytic work done by Swedish company Primelabs in cooperation with Danish company Cision.

    Good questions. I agree. It's far too easy to count links and use that as an 'authority' meter.

    But as someone trying to convince corporations that they should be blogging I'm desperate to find as much evidence as I can for the positive effects it can have.

    That's a very good point.

    Also when I talk to people about blogging they almost always ask how they can measure this and that and what they can gain from it.

    So yeah, the analysis is better than nothing but we still need more measurements and knowledge of the (Danish) blogosphere.
