		<description>I believe that most people wanting to remove curly quotes in posts want to do so for copy-paste reasons. In other words, they write code in their blog posts and are ... well ... geeks. Hence, the above solution is probably quite easy to implement.

Nonetheless, hacking individual files is a no-go. Especially with the release rate of lately (need I mention that WP 2.0.6 is just &#039;round the corner?). I would go for the plugin solution any time. One plugin that I know of (and use on one of my WP 2.0.5 sites) is Semiologic&#039;s &quot;&lt;a title=&quot;Unfancy Quote Plugin for WordPress&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;Unfancy Quote&lt;/a&gt;&quot;.
