So if you, like me, don't like the curly quotes in WordPress, here's what you need to do.

I believe that most people wanting to remove curly quotes in posts want to do so for copy-paste reasons. In other words, they write code in their blog posts and are … well … geeks. Hence, the above solution is probably quite easy to implement.
Nonetheless, hacking individual files is a no-go. Especially with the release rate of lately (need I mention that WP 2.0.6 is just 'round the corner?). I would go for the plugin solution any time. One plugin that I know of (and use on one of my WP 2.0.5 sites) is Semiologic's "Unfancy Quote".
It's worth taking for a spin at least :)
